About Bristol Racing

Why do we do it?

Pedal car racing is a friendly and inclusive endurance sport, where teams compete in human powered vehicles (HPVs). Whilst the focus of racing is in participation, healthy competition exists amongst the strongest teams.

Who Are Bristol Racing Anyway?

Bristol Racing was formed in 2005 by a group of friends who live and work in Bristol. The 2006 season was our first full season and we were very please to finish in an encouraging 5th place overall in PC1.

2007 brought a lot of change for Bristol Racing. We ran 2 Apollo F-Type Pedal Cars:

  • #15 - PC1 Class - now owned by Bristol Racing (well Rob actually!)
  • #16 - PCF Class - Our male 2006 PC1 car leased again from Great Central Racing but was driven by our all female racing team.

  • You can read more about this successful season in our 2007 season report.

    2008 Season Objectives

We like to be upfront with our team objectives which is why we put them here on this website, it adds a little constructive pressure for us and gives potential sponsors an insight.

  • Compete in the 2008 BPCC season with the aim of a top 3 championship finish in PC1.
  • Build upon our successful all female team by recruiting more drivers to help share the workload at events.
  • Develop (tweak!) both PC1 and PCF cars over Winter 07/08, with the aim of improving efficiency and driver ergonomics
  • Attract sponsorship to help fund transportation costs.

  • These objectives are not set in stone and will be re-evaluted as the 2008 championship progresses.
